The Amistad Case

Recently, on a trip back from Africa, after being taken prisoners and held as slaves, 36 African slaves tried to take control of the ship The Amistad. They succeeded. On the fourth night, they broke free of their chains. They killed the ships captain, and the 3 crew members. Then they forced the slavers who had captured them to sail them back to Africa. The slavers sailed towards Africa by day, but back to America by night. Eventually, they were apprehended just off Long Island and taken to Connecticut. Now, the slaves will be tried. The biggest factor in the trial will be whether or not the court has decided that the slaves have any rights at all.

Music

Some people like music, others do not. If you do, however, there are many different kinds to choose from. You might enjoy slow, easy-listening, classical music. Your tastes might be more fast-paced, like rock and roll. That is my personal favorite type of music. Or you might want to get really fast and upbeat with something like rap and hip-hop. Some people actually like country (I have no idea why.) Whatever kind of beat you like, it’s sure to be out there.
